If you are beauty conscious but also health minded, nail polish has long posed a dilemma. Just in time for sandal and flip flop weather a few good nail polishes are popping up like bright colored flowers. These lacquers can spare you potentially toxic and carcinogenic ingredients. I have found two that do not chip or look dull but still come in many beautiful shades.
At a New York organic spa called Priti clients are raving about No Miss Polish ($6.50) This nail polish comes in 150 beautiful long wearing colors. These polishes are available online or at the spa and do not contain dibutylphihalate, formaldehyde or toluene which are the three main health and environmental offenders.
Also available in finer department stores or online is the Barielle line called Shades ($8.00). Barielle has had a great nail care line for years and deserves a second look.

Garden Furniture That Is Forest-Friendly
Conscientious eco-folks can go to a website set up by the National Wildlife Federation to find forest-friendly garden furniture. This is lawn furniture and wood products that you can relax on and enjoy without worrying about the rainforest or any forest for that matter. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certifies garden furniture products from companies like Crate&Barrel and Lowes. It’s an organization that promotes responsible forestry management world-wide. The FSC identifies products that contain wood from well-managed forests and certifies it in accordance with the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council.
